Founded in 1994, the Serve Rhode Island is a nonprofit organization that serves as a state commission for national and community service, currently running nine AmeriCorps State programs statewide. We distribute up to $4 million of federal funds each year to vital nonprofit and local government agencies, partnering with over 40 grassroots initiatives, whose resources are devoted to improving education. Most of the funding brought to the state by the Service Alliance and its programs is won in national competitions.
