Put your idealism to work through AmeriCorps. Make a community safer. Help a kid get a real education. Protect the environment. Whatever your interest, there's an AmeriCorps program that needs your courage, your skills, and your dedication.
Do something special, something unique, and something exciting. Are you up to the challenge?
You can contact any program currently operating in Rhode Island directly or visit AmeriCorps recruitment web site for information about AmeriCorps positions nationwide. Please visit www.AmeriCorps.org for information about member benefits and terms of service.
A NOTE ON ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: As Martin Luther King, Jr. noted (see the quote on the right), you do not need a college degree to serve your community. You do not even have to make your subject and verb agree, although we encourage you to do so whenever possible. However, to serve in AmeriCorps you do need to meet certain requirements. At a minimum, you must be a United States citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 17 years of age. Employment authorization is not sufficient to establish eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps. These requirements are set by Congress, and the Service Alliance cannot waive them or make individual exceptions. (We may be powerful, but not omnipotent.) Individual programs may have additional eligibility requirements.
