Who is eligible to Apply?

Non-profit and government agencies delivering services in Rhode Island. For-profit organizations and non-profits designated by the IRS as 501(c)4 organizations are not eligible for AmeriCorps funding.

What is the due date?

Completed applications are due at the Rhode Island Service Alliance by 2 p.m. on January 11, 2006.

How can I learn more about this funding opportunity?

Please download and review 2006-2007 Rhode Island AmeriCorps State Application Guidelines (below) to determine if AmeriCorps funding might be of interest to your organization. As the next step, please download and review  AmeriCorps Application Instructions and Notice of Federal Funding Opportunity, which can be accessed by following the links below or through the web site of the Corporation for National and Community Service. Rhode Island Guidelines contain parts of AmeriCorps Regulations (45 CFR §§ 2520-2550) that are central to the 2006-2007 competition for new funding. They also outline requirements and conditions that are specific to Rhode Island. The State Guidelines are in addition to the AmeriCorps Application Instructions and Notice of Funding Opportunity. In cases where a discrepancy exists between Federal and State guidelines and instructions, State Guidelines take precedence. (For example, we are able to offer a higher level of funding per AmeriCorps member than specified in federal instructions.)
